The Charlotte Association of Insurance Professionals from North Carolina reached out to the Charlotte Family Housing this season again. The association members prepared, served and enjoyed dinner with the families of The Plaza Shelter.
Members prepared baked spaghetti & ziti, green beans and potato salad with bread and butter. We had plenty of dessert options, pies, cookies, jello blocks and fresh naval oranges. We also served tea and punch. Our associations had a great turnout and also a strong new member prospect! We had a great time and it appeared the members and staff of the shelter also enjoyed the evening.
The shelter is home to approximately 50 individuals. The facility is a shelter-to-housing program for homeless families. The families are empowered to manage a household budget, establish healthy routines, and become more involved in their children's education. It's designed to assist them in becoming more self sufficient, comfortable and a stronger family unit.
